Welcome. You've probably heard
about the wonders of a Belize Vacation -- a majestic mix of clear turquoise
waters, spectacular scenery, exhilarating adventures and a tranquil,
interesting island atmosphere. But where to stay, that's the challenge.
What we are not is a large and impersonal destination resort. Family
owned and run, we are very personal. We care a lot about our g
uests,
one by one and, happily, many return with friends and family. Why?
Check out the testimonials on this site. Many pleased guests, in fact,
have even volunteered their comments on the website tripadvisor.com -- like "absolutely beautiful setting," "impeccable
service," "a piece of paradise," "absolutely amazing
place," "expectations exceeded," and "wish I was
still there." We appreciate those reviews, and try very hard,
every day, to live up to them.
So if you're envisioning an intimate, tropical,
service-dedicated, direct-beachfront Caribbean destination, a Belize Resort just a few
minutes north of picturesque San Pedro, we are all of those things.
We also provide comfortable and very appealing accommodations, in suites
created by an interior designer from Oregon who found and fell in love
with this beachfront property at water's edge. We are confident you
will greatly enjoy a stay with us and your easy access to all the adventures
a Belize Vacation offers, right from our private dock. You will have
one regret, however: that you had to leave it all.
The things you’ll want to know:
We are the closest Ambergris Caye resort to San Pedro,
north of town, a fun and picturesque 10-minute water-taxi ride or
interesting
bike or golf cart ride away. Walk the two miles to town? Some hardy guests do, then
boat back, with packages.
We welcome singles, couples, families,
groups of friends, children of all ages, anniversary celebrants,
wedding parties and honeymooners -- we host many, and our record
of return guests makes us proud. Take a look, by clicking above,
at what some of our past guests have said about their time with us.
We enjoy 200+ feet of natural, pristine
Caribbean beachfront, with our own 250' dock (swim from it, or from
our beach), to which all the local guides come to pick up our guests
for one-of-a-kind excursions, both on the island and on the Belize
mainland.
We offer a freshwater pool w/a wrap-around
deck and comfortable chairs for sunning and lounging; 60-channel
cable TV; wi-fi internet access; free bicycles and kayaks; golf carts; a
game room; beachfront volleyball; a poolside palapa bar; our Black
Orchid Spa w/diverse services; palm trees and hammocks; and an outdoor
barbecue.
Ambergris Caye is diver's heaven, and our
on-site dive shop is staffed by some of the island's best certified
divemasters. They take our guests out all day, every day, right from
our dock, to dive (and snorkel) at many of the more than 50 dive
venues
available just 500 yards off shore at the second largest barrier
reef in the world. The guides are great with experienced and neophyte
divers
alike, and are trusted and appreciated by all of our dive guests.
Need PADI certification? Not a problem. Never dive before, but intrigued?
Take our one-day "resort course" and discover a whole new
underwater world.
At our poolside bar, you'll find
enticing snacks - ceviche, chips and salsa, shrimp cocktail, chicken
fingers, meat pies, nachos, and lots of local baked goods, with more
selections coming. You'll also enjoy dining around. You can beach-walk
in minutes to some of the island's best shorefront restaurants and
bars, and San Pedro itself is a mecca for moderately prices dining
discoveries, its restaurants serving food from many cultures. Or,
when you're all dined-out, you can prepare light meals right in your
own fully equipped kitchen, shopping in San Pedro supermarkets or
ordering groceries delivered to your suite.
t
You will greatly enjoy the personal,
caring, fun and very experienced on-site management team, an expatriate
American family who delight in treating everyone like family. They
will help you plan all the things to do and see that you've heard
about and that brought you to the island, and send you home delighted
that you came.
Simplicity itself. We will book
your connecting flight from Belize City to San Pedro; we will meet
your plane and taxi you to a nearby water-taxi landing (a five-minute
drive, with a supermarket stop along the way, if you wish), from
which you'll be whisked to our dock. Staff will be at dockside to
greet you and escort you to your suite.
Finally, if you elect to
join us, before you depart for your Belize Vacation we’ll
provide you with unparalleled email and phone support, giving you
information
on Ambergris Caye, excursion opportunities and dining recommendations,
and answering your questions whenever they occur to you -- a nearly
round-the-clock responsiveness we believe is unique on the island.
Our Accommodations:
We are unabashedly proud of our accommodations. Our 1BR and 2BR/2BA
air-conditioned, beachfront suites all have fully-equipped kitchens,
right down to the blenders and coffee-makers, and are fully furnished,
right down to the linens and beach towels.
All project quality throughout -- in their construction,
their spaciousness (550 square feet for 1BRs, 1,100 for 2BRs), their
tile floors and countertops, the cabinetry of mahogany and Belizean
cedar, the decorative imports from Mexico and Guatemala, the stainless
steel ceiling fans, the cathedral ceilings, the spacious bedrooms with
custom-designed furniture, the hand-made sinks and large showers, lots
of windows facing the Caribbean waters and offshore barrier reef. We
believe you’ll find these suites exceptional, and uncommon for
island accommodations. All are entertainment-quality. Daily maid service?
You bet.
Ambergris Caye: La Isla Bonita:
Only sophisticated
or adventurous travelers know there is a Caribbean island so close
to mainland America, and so welcoming. Ambergris Caye, 20
miles off the Belize mainland,is directly on beautiful Caribbean beachfront,
just a short, non-stop flight from Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston
and Dallas. There are long stretches of beaches to walk; elegant and
down-home shorefront restaurants; bicycles and water-taxis and golf
carts to take you wherever you want to go; water toys of every description;
the sandy streets of San Pedro, where you can shop its boutiques barefoot,
email friends from internet cafes, savor local foods in affordable restaurants,
hang out at atmospheric beachside bars, disco or gamble a bit, and interact
with friendly locals who truly enjoy visitors to their island. Most
of all, there are unforgettable adventures and excursions to experience
-- from snorkeling 500 yards offshore at the second largest barrier
reef in the world, to swimming with sharks, to inland jungle cruises
and Mayan ruins and cave tubing. And, of course, there is scuba diving
-- Ambergris Caye is divers' heaven, with more than 50 dive venues to
explore, all teeming with exotic marine life. The locals call Ambergris
Caye La Isla Bonita. You may as well, and once you discover it,
you'll likely be back.
Excursions:
White Sands Cove is a launching pad for Belize adventures of many kinds.
Diving? Whatever
your skill level, our carefully-selected divemasters will work with
you to improve those skills while introducing you to the many underwater
wonders of Ambergris Caye.

rays, eels, groupers, parrot fish, trigger fish, sea horses, turtles,
shrimp, sea fans and dozens of other marine specimens -- all in one
aquatic experience? Welcome to our spectacular and globally-celebrated
piece of the vast Caribbean Sea.
Swim with sharks? There’s
Shark Ray Alley, where you can join the guides cavorting with nurse
sharks and huge sting rays, a thrilling and unforgettable experience.
